look, i love you but...
My passport is arguably my best buddy for it has never left me whereever I go around the world. On days like today though I always feel like it's testing my patience. It takes me 20 minutes just to queue for entry into the Australian High Commission, trying to get a tourist visa for a three day visit. Upon my entry I found more than 50 people ahead being served at the speed of around 3-5 minutes per person. I gave up within 10 minutes figuring that not only I would have lost my $90 to pay for the visa but my company would have enough time to find a replacement for me if I waited for my turn. 90 bucks for 3 days...this is on top of the $120 I had churned out for the NZ one.
If I have a Ferarri-red colored passport all I need is to hop in the plane and get there. If I have a less bright but still a "distinguished" one, I only need to apply a visa online and get things done in the comfort of my home within 10 minutes.
No, I had to have a GREEN one. And it is the jealous type that won't let me have another one. How on earth can you be jealous when you're worth only slightly more than toilet paper???

I feel your pain with my Chinese passport, too. But look at the bright side, at least you have colorful evidence of all your travels. Damn EU, Commonwealth and US passports being boring. Cheers to all the good memories in one small book!
