Ramadhan in Indonesia - restaurants
What I love about Indonesia is that many food places are still open even when it is Ramadhan. Restaurants do try to show a form of respect by putting up a cloth on their windows so people outside can not see others eating inside.
What I don't like is if I happen to be not fasting and eating ice cream on my way from the mall to my car, I get nasty, dirty looks by majority of the people I pass. Hey, I might have been one of the 10% or so non-Muslims in Indonesia...where's the tolerance? Btw, YOU're the one fasting, YOU're the one who's supposed to control yourself and your emotions. By showing me your nasty scowl doesn't that mean you've failed to do so?

would you say that that attitude is representative of the general tolerance practiced by most Indonesians? Would you say Indonesia has gotten more or less tolerant to non-compliance with Islam of late... the papers here all seem to indicate that tolerance is on its way out...
